How to Get a Verified Trading Track Record on PickVesting
How do I get a verified trading track record? You link a brokerage account read-only through SnapTrade, and PickVesting computes the record from that connection. There are no screenshots to upload and no numbers to type. Once the link is live, the record covers your whole account and updates nightly, and you get a public URL you can share from anywhere.
This guide walks through the linking process, what the connection can and cannot do, what shows up on your profile when it is done, and where the record stops being proof. It is written for creators who want a record that survives a sceptical reader.
What you need before you start
You need a brokerage account and about five minutes. That is the whole list.
You do not need to prepare a spreadsheet, export statements, or redact anything. The record is computed from the connection, so there is nothing to assemble by hand. Verification is free and permanent, so you can link a brokerage and publish a verified record URL without paying anything.
PickVesting works with brokers including Robinhood, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, E\*TRADE, Interactive Brokers, Webull, tastytrade, Public, Vanguard, TradeStation, Alpaca, Wealthsimple and Questrade, and more, read-only via SnapTrade. If your broker is on the list of supported connections, the flow below is the same.
The linking flow, step by step
Linking is a read-only connection you make on your broker's own screen, not a password you hand to PickVesting.
- Start the flow to link a brokerage and publish a verified record.
- Choose your broker from the connection screen.
- Sign in on your broker's own login page. PickVesting never sees or stores your brokerage password.
- Approve a read-only connection. This connection can read your history and holdings and nothing else. It cannot place trades, move money, or change settings.
- That is it. The connection secret is sealed with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, and you can revoke it at any time from the app or from the broker.
The connection runs through SnapTrade, the layer that brokers use to share read-only data. If you want the detail on what that layer can and cannot see, we cover it in Is Read-Only Brokerage Linking Safe? What PickVesting Can and Cannot See.
What the record is built from
Your record is computed from the linked account, not from the trades you choose to show.
This is the part that makes a PickVesting record different from a screenshot. The record covers the whole linked account: every position, stocks, options and crypto, including contracts that expired worthless. You cannot quietly leave out the losers. If a position closed in that account, it is in the record.
Metrics are computed nightly from closed positions:
- Time-weighted return
- Win rate
- Max drawdown
Each of those is shown over 7 days, 30 days, 90 days and all time. And a figure never appears on its own. Every return is shown with how long the record has been verified and how many closed positions it covers, so a 40 percent number over three trades reads very differently from a 40 percent number over three hundred.
What your profile shows once it is live
Once the link is live, your profile shows a public record that updates itself every night.
Here is what a reader sees:
| On your profile | What it means |
|---|---|
| Return, win rate, drawdown | Computed nightly from closed positions, across four time windows |
| Verified-for duration | How long the record has been running |
| Closed-position count | How many closed trades the numbers rest on |
| Linked account count | How many brokerage accounts are linked to the profile |
That last row matters. Every profile states how many brokerage accounts are linked, so an unlinked account is a visible absence rather than a secret. A reader can tell whether they are looking at one account or your whole book.
Snapshots are append-only. A correction is a new row; nothing is rewritten. If you ever disconnect, the record keeps everything up to that day and shows the gap after it. Disconnecting never erases history, which means the record cannot be reset to hide a bad stretch.
You can see how verified records look on Discover before you link anything, so you know exactly what you are signing up to publish.
Publishing ideas against real positions
Once your record is live, you can publish trade ideas, and each idea points at a position you actually hold.
An idea can only be published against a real position the creator actually holds. The position is the disclosure. The entry price comes from the brokerage fill, not from a text box, so you cannot backdate an entry or claim a better fill than you got.
A few guardrails sit around this:
- Ideas on stocks under $300M market cap, 20M shares of float, or 500K average daily volume are refused before they publish. Thin names that are easy to push are kept out.
- Reducing a published position within 48 hours is flagged for review, and every sale after publication is watched. Selling into your own followers is visible.
- A green seal means a live brokerage link currently vouches for the position behind the idea. A yellow seal means a demo account, test data, or a lapsed connection, and the line next to the seal says which.

Keeping verification free, and what you can charge for
Verification stays free forever, and selling access is a separate, optional choice.
You can link a brokerage, publish a verified record URL, and share it from X, YouTube, Discord or Whop without paying anything. Many creators stop there and use the URL as proof next to the content they already make.
If you want to sell, VIP access is optional. PickVesting keeps 15% of VIP revenue; the rest is paid out through Stripe. Readers can follow for free, subscribe for ideas, or join VIP for the inner circle. The record is the proof; the subscription is a separate decision a reader makes with that proof in front of them.
What this still does not prove
A verified record proves what happened in the linked accounts, and nothing beyond that.
Be honest with your audience about the edges:
- A record says nothing about accounts that are not linked. It proves the linked accounts only.
- A record does not know a reader's suitability, position size, or taxes.
- A record does not predict the next trade or future results.
- A record does not vouch for the quality of advice in a chat room.
- A follower's fill price differs from yours. PickVesting does not place trades for anyone and does not offer copy trading.
A verified record is a strong answer to "did this actually happen." It is not an answer to "should I copy this." The best creators say so plainly, and the record lets them.

Questions people ask
Do I have to upload screenshots or enter my trades manually?
No. The record is computed from a read-only brokerage connection made through SnapTrade, not from screenshots and not from manual entry. Once the connection is live, metrics are calculated nightly from your closed positions with nothing to type in.
Can PickVesting trade or move money in my account?
No. The connection is read-only. It can read your history and holdings and nothing else. It cannot place trades, move money, or change settings. You sign in on your broker's own screen, so PickVesting never sees or stores your password, and you can revoke access any time.
How much does it cost to get verified?
Verification is free and permanent. You can link a brokerage and publish a verified record URL without paying anything. Selling VIP access is optional; if you do sell, PickVesting keeps 15% of VIP revenue and the rest is paid out through Stripe.
What happens to my record if I disconnect my brokerage?
The record keeps everything up to the day you disconnect and shows the gap after it. Disconnecting never erases history. Snapshots are append-only, so a correction is a new row and nothing already recorded is rewritten.
Can I leave my losing trades out of the record?
No. The record covers the whole linked account: every position across stocks, options and crypto, including contracts that expired worthless. Every figure is shown with how long the record has been verified and how many closed positions it covers.
Which brokers can I link?
Supported brokers include Robinhood, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, E\*TRADE, Interactive Brokers, Webull, tastytrade, Public, Vanguard, TradeStation, Alpaca, Wealthsimple and Questrade, and more, read-only via SnapTrade. The linking flow is the same across supported brokers.
