How Trading Creators Prove Their Record and Monetise an Audience
Trading creators can prove their record by linking a brokerage read-only and publishing a verified URL that anyone can check, then monetise the audiences they already have on X, YouTube, Discord and Whop by linking that record from those channels. Verification is free and permanent; selling VIP access is a separate, optional switch. This post walks through the mechanics, the economics, and the line between what a record proves and what it does not.
The trust tax of screenshots
Audiences have learned to distrust screenshots, and that distrust is now a cost you pay every time you post a P&L image. A cropped gain, a paper account, a single winning day, all look identical to a genuine result on a phone screen. So the sharper part of your audience discounts everything, and the part that does not discount it is the part you least want to build a business on.
The fix is third-party proof: numbers that come from a source the creator cannot edit. That is the entire premise of a verified record. Instead of asking people to trust an image, you point them at a page where the return, the win rate and the drawdown were computed from your actual brokerage history. If you want the longer argument, we laid it out in Verified Trading Record vs Screenshot: What Counts as Proof.
Free verification, optional paywall
Verification on PickVesting is free, permanently. You can link a brokerage and publish a verified record URL without paying anything, and without ever turning on a paywall.
That matters for two reasons. First, it means the proof and the sale are separate decisions. You can publish a record purely to answer the "are you real" question, and monetise later or not at all. Second, it removes the usual objection that verification is just an upsell in disguise. The record stands on its own, and the paywall is a switch you flip when and if you want to.
Readers meet your work at three levels: follow for free, subscribe for ideas, or join VIP for the inner circle. You decide which of those you offer. None of them is required for the record itself to be public and checkable.
Keep your channels, add a URL
You do not move your audience anywhere. You keep posting on X, YouTube, Discord and Whop, and you link the record from there.
Think of the verified URL as a citation you attach to your existing presence, not a new home you have to rebuild. The commentary, the community, the personality all stay where your people already follow you. What changes is that a claim in a tweet or a pinned Discord message can now resolve to a page that was computed independently. You can browse see how verified records look on Discover to get a feel for how a public record reads before you publish your own.
VIP economics: the fee and the payout
Selling VIP access is optional, and the economics are simple. PickVesting keeps 15% of VIP revenue; the rest is paid out to you through Stripe.
There is no separate deal to negotiate and no minimum. If you never turn VIP on, there is nothing to pay, because verification itself costs nothing. When you do turn it on, the 15% is the platform's cut and Stripe handles the payout to your account. We do not publish average revenue, conversion rates, or subscriber projections, because those depend entirely on your audience and your work, not on us.
| Level | What the reader gets | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Follow | Free access to the public record | Nothing |
| Subscribe | Trade ideas | 15% of revenue, rest via Stripe |
| VIP | The inner circle | 15% of revenue, rest via Stripe |
Let the record do the selling
The most persuasive thing on your page is the part you cannot touch. Every metric is computed by us, nightly, from your closed positions, not typed into a box and not edited by you.
That computation produces time-weighted return, win rate and max drawdown over 7 days, 30 days, 90 days and all time. A figure never appears on its own: every return is shown alongside how long the record has been verified and how many closed positions it covers, so a reader can see whether a number rests on years of trades or a single lucky week. Corrections are append-only. If something needs to change, it becomes a new row; nothing already published is rewritten.
When you sell against numbers you did not choose, the sceptical reader has less to argue with. That is the point. The record does the part of the pitch that your own voice cannot credibly do.
Rules that make the record worth anything
A record is only worth linking if it is hard to game, and three rules do most of that work.
- Whole account. The record covers the whole linked account: every position, stocks, options and crypto, including contracts that expired worthless. You cannot show the winners and quietly drop the losers, because the account is the unit, not the trade.
- Computed by us. Metrics come from the brokerage-fed history, computed on our side. You link read-only through SnapTrade, sign in on your broker's own screen, and PickVesting never sees your password. The connection can read history and holdings and nothing else; it cannot place trades or move money.
- Disconnect shows a gap. You can disconnect any time, but doing so never erases history. The record keeps everything up to that day and then shows the gap. An unlinked account is a visible absence, because every profile states how many accounts are linked. Walking away is allowed; walking away silently is not.
Those rules are also why read-only linking is safe to do in the first place. If you want the security detail before you connect, read Is Read-Only Brokerage Linking Safe? What PickVesting Can and Cannot See.
Launch checklist
Here is the order that gets you from screenshots to a checkable record.
- Link a brokerage, read-only. Connect an account through SnapTrade. Supported brokers include Robinhood, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, E\*TRADE, Interactive Brokers, Webull, tastytrade, Public, Vanguard, TradeStation, Alpaca, Wealthsimple, Questrade, and more, read-only via SnapTrade. You can link a brokerage and publish a verified record from the creator page.
- Publish the public URL. Once the record computes, you have a URL to share.
- Pin it in your bio. On X and YouTube, put the URL where a new viewer looks first.
- Add it to Whop and Discord. Reference the record in your Whop listing and pin it in your Discord so the proof travels with the pitch.
- Decide on VIP later. Turn on VIP access only if and when you want to sell an inner circle. Verification does not depend on it.
If you also plan to publish trade ideas, note that each idea can only go out against a real position you actually hold, with the entry price taken from the brokerage fill. The position is the disclosure. That is a separate topic worth its own read, but the same principle runs through everything: the account is the source, not your keyboard.
What this still does not prove
A record proves what happened in the linked accounts and nothing more. It says nothing about accounts you did not link, which is exactly why the linked-count is shown. It does not know a reader's suitability, position size, or taxes, and it does not predict your next trade. A verified record does not vouch for the quality of advice in a chat room, and it does not make a creator safe to copy. A follower's fill price will differ from yours; PickVesting does not place trades for anyone and does not offer copy trading. Proof of a past result is proof of a past result, and that is the honest limit of what any record can offer.
Get started
The path is short: link a brokerage read-only, publish the URL, and optionally turn on VIP. The record does the arguing you cannot do yourself, and you keep the audience you already built.

Questions people ask
Does it cost anything to verify my trading record?
No. Verification on PickVesting is free, permanently. You can link a brokerage read-only and publish a verified record URL without paying anything and without turning on a paywall. Selling VIP access is a separate, optional decision.
What fee does PickVesting take on VIP subscriptions?
When you choose to sell VIP access, PickVesting keeps 15% of the VIP revenue and the rest is paid out to you through Stripe. If you never turn VIP on, there is nothing to pay, because verification itself is free.
Do I have to move my audience off Discord, Whop, X or YouTube?
No. You keep posting where you already are and link the record from there. The verified URL is a citation you attach to your existing channels, so your community, commentary and following all stay in place.
Can I hide my losing trades from the record?
No. The record covers the whole linked account, including every position across stocks, options and crypto and contracts that expired worthless. Metrics are computed by PickVesting from brokerage history, not typed in, so you cannot show only the winners.
What happens to my record if I disconnect the brokerage?
Disconnecting never erases history. The record keeps everything up to the day you disconnect and then shows the gap afterwards. Because every profile states how many accounts are linked, an unlinked account is a visible absence rather than a hidden one.
Is linking my brokerage safe for a creator?
The connection is read-only through SnapTrade. You sign in on your broker's own screen, so PickVesting never sees or stores your password, and the link can read history and holdings only. It cannot place trades, move money, or change settings, and you can revoke it at any time.
Publish a record your audience can check
Link a brokerage read-only. Verification is free, for good.
